Role of Facilitator under Research

Research is the backbone of development. Whatever we see around is because of tireless efforts made by researchers across the world.  Facilitators may not realise their importance now in so far as their role is concerned but in brief they will be required to:

1. Undertake survey in their area on different issues as per requirements of various research institutions, create vast database on different aspects for overall development of their village/colony.

3. If work professionally, accurately and honestly, a Facilitator may also act as ‘Village Statistical Officer’, which is a plan for their growth during the course of time.

Since a Facilitator has to work for overall development of their village, a Facilitator is supposed to collect various information, coordinate with various development agencies within the Block/district and work as per direction issued. All work under this activity may not be paid activity, a Facilitator should also be ready to work voluntarily.

7. A Directory of Centrally and State sponsored schemes will be created. A Facilitator has to check whether benefits of all schemes are reaching intended beneficiaries/village or not. If not, SSEG will provide them a system to initiate the process.

For identification of Infrastructure gap, a check list will be provided to the Facilitator to help DLC in identification of issues/activities and seek funding required from external sources like CSR. Details will be coordinated by DLC and locally identified NGO. Facilitator has to coordinate with all to ensure that infrastructure gap and basic amenities are minimised.

11. Proper planning and implementation is the key to scientific and systematic development, which require high level of knowledge, expertise and competency to coordinate. A Facilitator may not be initially competent to successfully perform this responsibility but can seek cooperation and support of such persons from village or SSEG Team will extend support. DLC has to extend full cooperation and support in this regard.
     

Research and Development is an unending process, its scope can’t be limited. If Facilitator remain associated, during his life-time he will contribute a lot for development of his village which will be liked by the villagers. It will boost him to develop leadership quality.
